Barrier Force®
Barrier Force® systems are temporary or permanent cellular structures designed to protect against natural disasters.
Barrier Force® systems are a series of pentagon-shaped bags sloped on one side, vertical on the other, open at the top and connected side by side like an accordion. Self-contained cells allow the barrier to be unaffected if one cell breaks, remaining strong and standing. These temporary or permanent cellular structures are designed to protect against natural disasters while remaining simple to use and reducing the usual costs of building a temporary or semi-permanent flood-defense barrier.
The cells are made of high-strength textile, incorporating recycled plastic to keep the barrier environmentally friendly. Some of the materials include, sand, gravel, crushed road base, RAP, Mill Slag Topsoil, sandy clay, flowable fill, ready mix concrete. Once the bags have been used, they can be recycled, but Barrier Force® barriers also have UV protectants, allowing them to last up to ten years depending on the intensity of the sunlight.
Barrier Force® were designed from the ground up to be a strong, stable, rapidly deployable flood barrier, which can be installed with limited manpower to offer communities flood protection.
